Collections are the foundation of Collecty. In this guide you learn how to create and set up a new collection.
Step 1: Open the Collections page
Click "Collections" in the sidebar. You see an overview of all your existing collections.
Step 2: Click "New collection"
A dialog appears where you fill in the basics:
- Name — give your collection a recognizable name
- Color — choose one of the 12 available colors
- Icon — pick an icon that suits the collection
Step 3: Add items
Open your new collection and click "Add item". You can search for products or (on the mobile app) scan a barcode.
Step 4: Fill in details
Per item you can save extra info: condition (new, used, etc.), purchase price, date and notes. These fields are optional but make your collection more valuable.
Tip: use categories strategically
Create separate collections for different purposes — for example "My LEGO sets", "For sale" and "Wishlist 2026". This keeps your overview clean.
